SAP Business Network Catalog which was released this month (2311), ushers in a new era of connectivity and commerce via the network.  With this innovative, new capability, suppliers will be able to gain greater exposure and generate new leads for their business from the thousands of buyers on SAP Business Network who are searching for and ready to buy the products they offer. Buyers will be able to quickly and easily find new and credible sources of supply from suppliers that fit their needs.  

With a network catalog, suppliers can maintain a single list of all of the products they offer, which will be searchable and viewable by all network buyers. Products listed on a supplier’s network catalog will be searchable by buyers via keywords. This means the leads suppliers receive from SAP Business Network Discovery will be high quality as buyers are looking exactly for the item(s) offered by the supplier. 

When buyers search for an item they need in Discovery, they will see the top results of suppliers with a network catalog offering items matching the keywords searched for by the buyer. Buyers will be able to click on the various suppliers and view their profiles. Suppliers with rich company profiles will be able to generate greater interest from buyers as they illustrate the various aspects of their business that make them stand out, such as sustainability ratings, supplier diversity, various certifications, and more. When a buyer has found an item from a supplier they are interested in, they can send a Request for Information (RFI) to the supplier through Discovery, potentially resulting in new business for both parties. 

Enterprise account suppliers will be the first to get enabled with SAP Business Network Catalogs beginning now until January 8th when all enterprise account suppliers will be enabled. All standard account suppliers will be enabled with the feature later in 2024. Content will increase slowly as more and more suppliers add their content to the network catalog.
