DataDome’s mission is to protect our customers against threats and online fraud on any infrastructure. In response to customer demand, we are thrilled to add Fastly Compute to our supported server-side integrations.

Fastly Compute is a serverless computing platform that enables developers to run code at the edge of the network, closer to end-users, for faster and more efficient processing.

Our Fastly VCL integration is used by a large number of our customers—but for very specific cases, Fastly Compute (also known as Fastly Compute@Edge) is a better option. This is why we are now supporting both Fastly VCL & Fastly Compute@Edge.

Integrated Protection In Real Time

This integration allows you to inject directly our JavaScript tag on all the pages of your websites. You just need to enter your client-side key in the configuration, and there is no need to request any front-end change for your team. We do the hard work for you!

As more and more of our customers use GraphQL, this integration supports out-of-the-box GraphQL to catch even more fraudulent traffic.

The Fastly Compute integration continues to expand our list of “edge” integrations already available:

Setup Overview

Setting up this integration is a straightforward process, detailed in our Fastly Compute integration technical documentation. If you are already using Fastly Compute or not, the setup is different.

Here’s a simplified overview of the steps if you are already using Fastly Compute for your website:

1. Add the DataDome module dependency (@datadome/module-fastly-compute) to your service.
2. Update your code to call DataDome for each request.
3. Add a configuration store named “datadome” to contain both your server-side key and client-side keys.
4. Create and configure the DataDome API backend in the Fastly Compute service, so the integration is able to call the DataDome API.
5. Activate the Compute service.

Congrats, you are now protected and can see your real-time traffic in the DataDome dashboard!
