The cloud native landscape is constantly evolving, presenting new challenges and opportunities for site reliability engineers and platform engineers. KubeCrash Fall 2024 dives deep into the latest trends in platform engineering to help you navigate the complexities of modern cloud native environments. Fairwinds joins practitioners from Intuit, StackGen, The New York Times, VMWare, Red Hat, Bouyant, SUSE, and Hachyderm to share our experiences and participate in discussions around best practices and emerging solutions in this space.

Committed to Open Source and the Community

When it comes to enterprise-grade cloud-native tooling, platform engineering and DevOps teams typically choose which technologies to use when building Kubernetes environments. Now widely recognized as lower cost and often more secure than proprietary software, many engineers gravitate toward freely available open source. It can also be much easier to integrate and support than closed source solutions, another reason engineers love using them.

Today, in part due to the efforts of the Cloud Native Computing Foundation, open source is a critical component of any modern technology stack. KubeCrash aims to help engineering teams develop the skills necessary to leverage these technologies in their Kubernetes environments. During these one-day knowledge-sharing and virtual learning sessions, developers, reliability engineers, cloud security specialists, and platform engineers are able to learn directly from the maintainers of some of the most popular open source projects and ask questions.

KubeCrash’s deep-dive technical sessions — available online and for free — are led by open source project maintainers, many of whom also serve on CNCF Working Groups. Our sessions focus on open source projects, empowering attendees to leverage freely available, secure, and customizable tools. We’ll be sharing actionable insights and practical takeaways you can use to navigate the growing landscape of platform engineering tools and vendors.

And our commitment to the community goes beyond technology. Similar to previous KubeCrash events, we’re partnering with a fantastic organization: Deaf Kids Code. For every registration, KubeCrash will donate $1 to support their mission of empowering deaf and hard-of-hearing children through coding education.
