The modern security landscape is complicated. You have traditional infrastructure to maintain in addition to applications with their own unique needs and users that must be protected. Understanding how all of those systems work together is critical to ensuring you don’t end up with a blind spot like a weak password policy or a foothold attack that gathers way too much information before being discovered. That means that you need to be current on all the offerings available in the market.

Security Field Day is Here to Help

As the event lead for Security Field Day, I’m a bit biased but I believe that this event is the kind of conversation that practitioners enjoy most of all. It’s a deep discussion around the technologies that drive our security landscape. Instead of hearing buzzwords about how to drive synergies or unlock potential you get to hear a group of knowledgeable practitioners asking the right questions from the product managers and technical engineers.

For example, when Citrix talks about using zero-trust principles to secure application traffic, what questions spring to mind for you?  I want to know which methods they’re using and how they might integrate with my existing IAM infrastructure. I’m focused on the details of how to make this work. If Dell is going to talk about post-quantum encryption let’s get into the weeds a little with a discussion of how lattice-based systems are superior to RSA algorithms. There had better be math involved!

The goal of events like Security Field Day is to let the community speak to the presenting companies through our delegate audience. People like JJ Minella and Mitch Ashley are well respected and not afraid to ask important questions to companies like DigiCert. They want to understand the technology, both for their ends and also for the community at large.

Event Details

Security Field Day 12 will take place October 16-17, 2024. You can watch the live-streaming video right here on the Techstrong family of sites or on the Tech Field Day website. We will also be live on social media sites everywhere using the hashtag #XFD12. This is the easiest way to make your voice heard by the delegates and ask important questions. One of the key things that sets Tech Field Day events apart in the industry is the amount of interactivity between the delegates and the presenters. That means that your questions will get asked and answered live on camera. It’s like having a pipeline directly to the people you want to talk to, who have the knowledge you’ve been waiting for.

If you’re not able to catch the live streaming video because you’re swamped with work or you are outside of Pacific Time, make sure you follow the Tech Field Day LinkedIn page for immediate access to the replay of each presentation in its entirety.‌ If you want to digest the content in smaller bites, the Tech Field Day YouTube channel will have the videos uploaded very soon after the end of the event where you can queue them up and follow along at your leisure.

We’re very excited to be bringing you this amazing content and we hope that you’ll be able to tune in and enjoy it. Don’t be afraid to jump on your favorite social platform and ask some questions or even add your voice to the discussion. We enjoy meeting new people and would love to hear your perspective on security!
