Hi, here is the clueless op..
for some reason I can only post links.

I have a motorola xt2073-1 astro. I received it as an engineering device. In order to fix the sims i had to relock then unlock the bootloader, now status is flashing_unlocked but boot is (secure).

command:

fastboot oem unlock critical (bootloader) Already unlockedFAILED (remote: '')fastboot: error: Command failed

fastboot flashing unlock (bootloader) Already unlockedFAILED (remote: '')fastboot: error: Command failed

fastboot flashing unlock_critical (bootloader) Not supported commandFAILED (remote: '')fastboot: error: Command failed

but:

fastboot erase persist (permission denied)
command failed

according to the last paragraph in the linked page in title:

Transitioning from locked to unlocked state should require a physical
interaction with the device. This interaction is similar to what the effects of
running the fastboot flashing unlock command but requires the user to press
a physical button on the device. Devices shouldn't allow programmatically
transitioning from lock critical to unlock critical without physical
interaction, and devices shouldn't ship in the unlock critical state."

what the...?
